Marcus Dewayne Huff, 35, of Norcross, turned himself in to an off-duty DeKalb County police officer Sunday. Gwinnett investigators questioned him Monday and took him to the Gwinnett County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
Officers discovered Aftowski’s partially covered body while performing a welfare check at his Arbor Drive apartment. According to arrest warrants, he had been stabbed more than 30 times.
Authorities have hinted that the two men knew each other and that Huff didn’t immediately leave the apartment after the killing.
