Impaired driver had medical condition

A Snellville police officer attempted to stop a vehicle driven by a man who appeared to be impaired in some way. The officer approached the vehicle on foot and it the driver left the scene. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled at relatively low speeds in congested traffic conditions. The pursuit was stopped because of heavy traffic, but the driver turned into the Presidential Commons Shopping Center and drove erratically, almost hitting several vehicles and pedestrians The officer followed the vehicle and called other units for support. As other units began arriving, the suspect swerved into the turn lane and struck the first officer's vehicle. Another officer stopped the vehicle and several officers assisted. It turned out that the suspect was having a diabetic episode. Because of their efforts, no people were injured or vehicles damaged. The driver will face numerous traffic charges, however.
