Honest officer, I just kept the vehicle

He claims just found the car parked with keys inside and wanted to drive it. Yeahhhh...this guy better pray I'm nowhere near his jury pool.

[an officer] ran the tag on a Chevrolet Tahoe and it came back as stolen out of DeKalb County during a carjacking. The carjacker was armed with a shotgun.

The driver claimed the car had been parked in his apartments in Lilburn for over a month with the keys inside.

He said he couldn’t resist the temptation and began driving the vehicle. He gave valuable information on the original crime and other crimes. We charged him with theft by receiving of the vehicle and turned the case over to DeKalb County.
